Aichi Machine Industry Co., Ltd. has started to work on the development of a production technology to increase accuracy in engine assembly in order to improve fuel efficiency of a small-car engine, whose development and production have been commissioned from Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. In an aim to halve the assembly tolerances, it will review the manufacturing and assembly processes of major components. It plans to support Nissan in reinforcing the fuel-efficient vehicle lineup by reflecting its new methods to improve accuracy on occasions such as partial remodeling. Product Development Structure -The Company set up an integrated R&D structure that enables the Company to conduct planning, designing, and test production experiments needed for commercializing products. Also, the Company developed products including clean, economical, and high performance engines and compact and light manual transmissions by utilizing the latest computer systems on digital mockups, simulation and data analysis. R&D Activities As a core company in the Nissan Group, the Company worked to develop new technology and products designed to create more environmentally friendly cars. Also, the Company continued developing engines that reach a higher dimension by achieving lower fuel consumption but still provide improved engine power. |
